Civilian Job Opportunity
Chiefs,
Do you know of any operators who are retiring or otherwise leaving Active Duty, or been-retired operators who want a change of pace? I’m in the market to hire one ST-familiar person (GS-12 overhire, 2-yrs) to help with the ST transformation initiatives we’ll be kicking off soon.

High operational tempo at the 125th Special Tactics Squadron; changes in store
One of my favorite guys, Major Dan Schilling, the commander of the Oregon Air National Guard's 125th Special Tactics Squadron, brought me up to speed on the rapid pace of things happening in his unit of 94 people, which is based at the Portland Airbase.

Riders Loop the Great Northwest
A chance to enjoy some of the most spectacular scenery in the western U.S. while raising money for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation turned out to be an irresistible combination for 18 motorcycle enthusiasts.
Organizers Pam and Rob Pittman say their cohorts included special operators, retired special operators and firefighters from the Portland, Oregon area.
The three day tour started at the capital of Washington state, Olympia then made its way to The Dalles, Oregon where Rob says the VFW and American Legion Posts pulled out all the stops with a beer and bar-b-que bash.
Generous financial support from the Portland Firefighters Association Local 43, the Franz Bakery as well the VFW and American Legion Posts helped keep overhead down and maximize the amount of money donated to SOWF.
When the riding and counting were done, Rob figures donations to the Warrior Foundation will total about $4,000.
Good friends, a great ride and a wonderful cause to support adds up to a winning combination for the Pittmans, their friends and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.

CCT WIA - SrA Jeremy King (KG)
SrA King - 320 STS - forward deployed to OEF was “wounded in action” Sunday when the vehicle he was riding in was struck by an IED. Bottom line -- he’ll be OK. We feel very fortunate it wasn't worse for KG, but sadly, SOF suffered 3x casualties as a result of the blast.
Most significant injury: "mild TBI" with "retrograde amnesia," but doc expects a full recovery in a few weeks. He will likely be released from the hospital w/I the next day or two and will remain forward in garrison w/ his ST teammates for 1-2 weeks while he undergoes periodic (every 48 hours) memory testing and combat stress evals.
Please keep him and our lost SF brothers in your thoughts and prayers.
Please forward this on to as many other ST members as you can. Thanks.
