Col. Bob Swisher Update

Ron,
I was reading through the CCA Newsletter (as I always do, eventually) and saw your request for info to include. You and I don't personally know each other, but I am the wife of a former CCT guy, (CCA Life Member #536) Bob Swisher (now Colonel Bob Swisher).
We have remained in touch with the CCT world vicariously through the CCA newsletter, SgtMacs web site and by attending the reunions when the AF allows Bob to take a few moments off. Recently, July of 2007, Bob was given an assignment to Ali al Salem Air Base in Kuwait for a year as the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing Commander. He was fortunate to arrive there at the right time to present the monthly unit awards. The awards presentation was one of the first official functions he got to preside over. One of those awards went to TSgt Richard L. Karmann III. I don't know if you knew him or not, but Rich Karman II was a CCT guy that supervised Bob in CCT at Hurlburt Field back in 1977.
Bob was thrilled to be able to present the award to the son of one of his supervisors and one of our dear friends from those CCT days. Rich III is assigned to the Security Forces unit that works under Bob over in Kuwait.
If you knew Rich II, you will see from the attached picture that Rich III bears an uncanny resemblance to his dad from those CCT days in the late 70s early 80s. (In the picture, Bob is on the left, Rich is in the middle and the other guy is the 386th AEW Command Chief, Carl Hunsinger)
As a side note, we have heard rumors of an assignment to Scott AFB upon his return from Kuwait this July (2008) though nothing official has come down the pike yet.
Unless they pin General on him (which Bob claims is NOT going to happen, and he doesn't think he wants anyway), he will probably take one more assignment and then retire sometime early 2010.AF life has been good to us from CCT to Wing Command.
