Clyde Howard Celebration of Life

Dear CCA Members,

If you haven’t heard the news, Clyde Howard passed away last week. He was found in his garage slumped over his office computer… likely died of a heart attack. Keeping with Clyde’s wishes and “style” he didn’t want a funeral service or a memorial ceremony. Keeping with those wishes his brother, Eddie, and Clyde’s children invite you to attend a “party” in his memory at the VFW Spectre Post on Hwy. 98 in Navarre, Fla. tomorrow, 30 Dec. at 1330.

P.S. With our CCA Secretary on leave, I looked through the CCA Directory to find those I thought were close to Clyde and those in the local area who may be able to attend his celebration. If you know of others, please let them know.

This has been a sad two weeks for CCT. For those who haven’t been on Facebook or the CCA Blog, you may not have been notified of our loses. We lost Rex Evitts (Cancer), Gus Rhinehart (Cancer), Stan Braxton (stroke and complications following a motorcycle racing accident) and Clyde within the last two weeks. Not a very good holiday season for their family and friends.

Here’s wishing all of you a better time in 2012.

Fraternally,

Wayne Norrad

Clyde's passing is a total shock and leaves a large empty space for many of us. I stayed with Clyde during this past reunion, and we shared a lot of memories. He called me about three weeks ago to see if I would be able to get back to FWB anytime soon. He intended to get together with General Secord, to clear up discrepancies in some of the stories concerning the fall of LS 85. Little did I know.... Godspeed my friend and teammate, you will be missed!
